The Diamond Creek Netball Courts are now match ready for the big games thanks to the completion of court upgrades funded by the Andrews Labor Government.
Parliamentary Secretary for Sport Danielle Green and Member for Eltham Vicki Ward joined members of the Nillumbik Force Netball Association to officially launch the new competition standard courts.
Over 100 netball teams and more than 1100 players use the courts, and the upgrades were made possible through $1.96 million from the Labor Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program.
The old courts have been replaced with Netball Victoria compliant competition courts featuring a Rebound Ace surface, new line marking, shelters for teams and seating for spectators.
The venue will provide the perfect base for this fantastic netball association in the region and their association’s eight clubs to build on their memberships and inspire the next home-grown champions such as Vixens co-captain Kate Maloney.
Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
Ms Ward MP, and Ms Green MP acknowledged the Nillumbik Shire Council for its financial contribution to the project.
