The Plenty Fire Brigade has officially opened their new station and has celebrated the occasion in style!
Vicki Ward MP, Member for Eltham, today said, “The Plenty Fire Brigade does incredible work to keep our community safe, responding at all hours of the day to emergencies and always putting our community first.”
“It was a pleasure to be a part of the celebration of the opening of the new brigade in Plenty – just around the corner from the old station. A brigade that is fit for modern purpose and will help the Plenty Fire Brigade to grow and continue supporting our community in times of need,”
“I join with Member for Yan Yean, Lauren Kathage, in thanking Plenty Brigade Captain David Rumble, former Captain Adrian Marshman and Brigade members for all of their work,” said Ms Ward.
The upgrades to the station were partially funded by the State Andrews Labor Government, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting emergency services and first responders at all stages of their role.
“Congratulations to Commander Peter Spicer and the entire team at the Plenty CFA for a truly wonderful celebration that was touching and appropriate to honour the old and welcome the new,” said Vicki Ward MP.
The Plenty CFA marched from the old station to the new with members old and young involved, it was an important part of the celebrations of the day and a moving display.
“This project was a long journey, made possible by the tireless advocacy from Danielle Green, previous Member for Yan Yean who retired last year and a collaborative approach from Local Council, State Government, and the CFA,” said Vicki Ward MP.
